Industrial / Noise CDs For Sale

I’ve decided to get rid of my collection of industrial / noise cds from my DJing days. These include some very rare limited edition releases on the Ant-zen record label from artists like Converter, P·A·L and Salt along with other normal releases.

Feel free to browse my shop.

Orange Fishbowl Advert Tune

Not so long ago there was an advert running on UK television that featured a fish trapped in a fishbowl while in the ocean. This was for some or other Orange service. The song used on the ad really grabbed me and I was immediately on the internet searching for who did the song.

The search produced a website called Commercial Breaks & Beats and their forum had the answer.

The band is called Oceansize and the track is called ‘Music For A Nurse’.

If you like your music full of power and emotion then I can highly recommend both albums by these guys. I simply can’t get enough of them. They remind me a little of Longview - only a little more varied.

Depeche Mode Violated

I stumbled across the Depeche Mode Violated website tonight whilst searching for some mashed-up songs. It’s basically a project containing a mixture of covers, mashups and remixes for your listening and possibly dancing pleasure. Definately worth the download.

If you’re interested in other mixed albums then you should also investigate Primal Scream Screamixadelica and Prodigy Always Outsiders Never Outdone.

The Knife

A while ago I posted about how much I liked José González’s album Veneer, especially because it has the track ‘Heartbeats’ on it. Well, I recently discovered that the ‘Heartbeats’ track was originally done by another group called ‘The Knife‘. After getting their latest offer ‘Silent Shout‘ I can truly say that I’m a fan of theirs.

‘The Knife’ have managed to create an album that is electronic and dark while still humorous (seriously). It’s one of my favourite albums of the year, and I look forward to exploring their back catalogue.

José González - Veneer

After seeing the Sony Bravia LCD TV commercial on television (the one with the 250,000 coloured balls bouncing down the street) I had to find out who did the song featured. After some Googling I found out that it was recorded by a Scandinavian (of Argentinian descent) and appears on his album called ‘Veneer‘.

‘Veneer’ is a quality album that even after a few dozen plays, will still feel good to come back to whenever you’re thirsty for something sombre and beautiful.

Travel Sickness

I’ve just placed an order for the ‘Travel Sickness’ boxset, released by Hymen records.

This exciting release is strickly limited to 500 and is presented as 8 3″ cds in a wooden box. The contributing artists are Lusine ICL, Solarx, Lowfish, Gridlock, Psi Spy, Snog, Hecq, and Mad EP.

I had a look on a UK music site and to order the boxset (incl postage) would have been £50, but after a quick email to the record label in Germany I’ve managed to get the boxset for £30 including postage.

I can’t wait for it to arrive.
