Web2.0* Version 1.6.0 Available

The latest version of my Web2.0* Wordpress Theme is now ready for public consumption.

Web2.0* (which is just over 1 year old) now fully supports Wordpress 2.3’s tagging system. If you don’t use 2.3 then don’t worry - checks are in place for the function before it is called.

I was hoping to be able to release it through it’s download page, but due to not getting any response from those who run the website I am forced to make the release local.

So folks, here it is. Please let me know if you find any bugs or run into any problems. The readme.txt file outlines which files have been altered since it’s last release. One point to note is that I’ve replaced any references to an old function (get_settings()) with the updated version (get_option()).

Hey Neil, thanks for your continuos support of your Web2.0* theme! I haven’t found a single WP theme with variable width that looks and works as well as yours. I’m happy to see support for the 2.3 features like tagging integrated :)

I’ll have a look at v1.6 in the following days and will give you some feedback afterwards!

Thanks for all the kind comments. It’s good to know it’s appreciated!

I tryed it but the changes in Themes -> WEB2 Options doesn’t made any changes … i tryed to changemod 777 to both .css files but it doesnt matter

Sorry to hear that the theme options aren’t working.

I’ve never heard of this happening to anyone else before.

Hello,

I’ve tried to use your last release of theme but it does not work correctly. Note that I’m using a wordpress dowloaded from French WordPress organization.
You can have a look to it right now.

Thank you for your work, I love this theme.
Best regards,
Fred

Could you check the read-write access on style.php - make sure that the server can write to this file, just in case.

I found my problem.
The path to wp-config.php was not correct in the style.php file.
I need to set:
require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/../../../wp-config.php’);
My theme is in:
wp-content/themes/web20v160fra

I found that by using the plug-in web developer under firefox by using the option CSS->View CSS. It displays a page where I found some error at the bottom of it.

Thanks for posting the info - I’ll have to look into the cause more closely and make amends if required.

I love this theme.

Neil - I can’t find a single theme that is better than yours. Trouble is now all my client blogs will be using your theme as well - good job is is so tailorable. Very well done, I will sing your praises in a post shortly. Liz.

Thanks for the kind words Liz. Praise is always appreciated :)

Hi - again. I have just used your theme for a client. There is not much there yet - but I to encourage the client to keep posting. Please see http://www.thechaingang.co.uk/blog

You have inpsired me to make a theme of my own - when I get the time :-)

Hi, Neil! Thanks for the new theme. I’ve got a question: I’ve included a blockquote in my “about” section and the text has italicized. I don’t know what to do about this. Any ideas?

Open up the style.css file in a plain text editor (something like ‘Notepad’ will do) and search for ‘blockquote’ (without the apostrophises) - two line after the result there’s a line that reads:

font-style: italic;

change this to read:

/* font-style: italic; */

That will comment out and remove the italic-styled text from the blockquoted text.

Hi Neil. I have put another blog up for a client, and again have used your theme. Thanks again - I really cannot find a better one. Am I making the best use of the theme I wonder? Are you able for example to influence the colour of the H1, H2 tags etc in the body of a post.?

regards
Liz

Thanks again, Neil. I don’t have money or I’d give it to you. Let me know, though, if you ever need a kidney or cerebellum or something.

Only to say thanks for Web2.0*! I’m using it on another blog of mine and I’ve took the liberty to add some stuff :D I’ve add some Feedburner Flares (I love them!) and I’m planning to translating the theme into Portuguese.

Have your say
