Although it officially means “box” in Afrikaans, and yes “idiot” is a cleaner version of the slang translation .. there is an actual translation that is by far a lot more “below the belt” than everyone is letting on here. hence the reporter not able to say it on tv.

Let’s just say it is very similar (if not exactly) to a slang term used here in the UK which is contained within the first syllabus of the word “Country”. ;-)
